"I need a belt to hold up my pants"

Young guy confronted me yesterday. "I see you guys all over trying to raise money to help people. Well I'm homeless, and I need help. What are you going to do to help me? I need a belt to hold up my pants."

Lady waiting at the register says, "Do you have a job?"

EXPLOSION!

"I have a job. I make $10 an hour. I don't make enough to live."  Lady offers to pay for the belt. "I don't want you to pay for my belt! I want you (meaning Nonprofit) to pay for the belt."

So I gave him the belt and gave him the address to get help. "I'm going to walk there right now."

And it's true. So many homeless are normal, average, working people who don't make a living wage.
